Meet the Nicholson family! They hadn't had family portraits taken since their boys were in elementary school. Now their oldest is getting to graduate high school and it felt like the right time! We almost got rained out the day of our session, but ended up with a perfectly crisp sunny afternoon at Live Oak Park. The beautiful trees filtered the sunlight just right and we created some beautiful family portraits for the Nicholsons.
Prior to the session, I met Jennifer for her Design Consultation at their home. They had lost a portion of their home in the Lilac Fires and had since rebuilt. But she expressed that she wanted to make it feel more like home. They had a large space behind their couch that she where she wanted to hang portraits from the session. We talked about what size would be appropriate in that space and I took a photo of the wall so that we could see exactly what the images would look like in her home! Its so helpful to be able to visualize as you make the decisions. Keep reading below to see some of the custom design options we considered.
Here are some designs we looked at. They originally were considering only black and white images, but fell in love with the colors!
Here is the design that they settled on. The whole family large in the middle, then mom and dad on one side with the boys on the other.
And then the final finished pieces ready to hang in their home! The canvases turned out absolutely beautiful! This quick snap doesn't do them justice, but the colors are vivid, beautiful texture, and clear details. The black wood frames finish them off just perfectly.
